Capitaine Diop is a Seereer artist from Foundiougne. He has been singing professionally since 2019 and is a member of the band La Linguère. Diop is a vocalist and guitarist who plays traditional Seereer njuup and folklore music.

 

Diop is a versatile artist who sing, dance, compose, and play various musical instruments including the guitar and drum. Despite never having attended formal music school, Diop has a good ear for music and is a seasoned live performer especially during nguel events.

Diop's latest work as of December 2022 is on Seereer Heritage's single Ceereer ne ino mbogun released on 15 December 2022 which is the precursor to the upcoming album Ino mbogu Seereer ne (to be released in 2023). On this single, Diop appears as one of the featured artists following Seereer Heritage's artist auditions held in Kaolack on 27 August 2022. This is Diop's first major release.
