The Seereer Resource Centre (SRC) was founded with the aim of providing support services for education and research in Seereer culture, history and theology. This is done through four areas of work : courses and publications for the effective teaching and learning of the Seereer languages; an archive collection of resources on Seereer culture, history, theology and medicine which is open to researchers and the general reader at large; regular events and networking opportunities that helps the Seereer community to connect; and funding charitable projects that benefits poor Seereer communities in Senegal, The Gambia and Mauritania - where the Seereer people are found.
As of 2016, it is the first and only online resource dedicated to the preservation of Seereer religion (A ƭat Roog), history, culture, traditional medicine and genealogy. Over the years, it has transcribed and translate numerous documents relating to Senegambian history. Some of this work included the transcription of Radio Senegal and Radio Gambia's 1970's and 80's joint programme - Chossanie Senegambia (History of Senegambia) and the works of Seereer Radio's Cosaan Seereer programme (both in English and French).

These documents are the transcripts of the Chossanie Senegambia radio programme - from Radio Gambia and Radio Senegal's joint programme "Chossanie Senegambia" (History of Senegambia, French: « l’Histoire de la Sénégambie » (Cosaani Sénégambie)). Chossanie Senegambia was a joint programme between Radio Gambia and Radio Senegal that ran from 1973 up to the 1980s. It was a historical programme where notable Senegambian historians and griots were interviewed on matters relating to the history of Senegambia (Senegal and Gambia). When the collaboration between these two radio stations came to an end, the programme was picked-up by radio and television networks from both countries and introduced it to a new and younger audience. This programme was pioneered by Alhaji Alieu Ebrima Cham Joof, and our transcripts are from the original show from the 1970s to 1980s. These transcripts are in French. The corresponding English translations will be made available soon. Visit our website and the SRC's website for regular updates.
